Fire damage cleaning is in most cases covered by fire insurance. The key is paperwork prepared exactly the way the insurer expects — and that is our speciality:
- Quote based on the damage report — line items and quantities are numbered exactly as in the loss adjuster's report, so the insurer compares them directly, without extra questions.
- Invoice for the claim file — after the work we issue an invoice with the same line items and your claim number, ready to submit to the insurer.
- Before/after photo documentation — plus a work report, so the scope of work is provable.
- We flag rooms missing from the report — smoke travels further than the first inspection records; we advise a supplementary adjuster's visit before work starts, so those costs are reimbursed too.
- You pay only for what is actually cleaned — unit prices (m², window, door) are fixed; anything that cannot be cleaned due to heat damage is not charged.
This is the procedure we have used to prepare quotes for claim files of Slovenian insurance companies. The site visit and the quote are free — and we start as soon as the insurer approves the estimate.
No regular deep clean removes soot
Soot is not ordinary dust: it is bound to grease and resins, so household products smear it and press it into the surface. Restoration cleaning follows a strict sequence: first dry removal with special chemical sponges that bind the particles, only then wet cleaning with alkaline agents that dissolve the grease, followed by neutralising the surfaces.
We work with industrial HEPA vacuums and protective equipment, the site is protected with foil and sealed doors, and rooms are cleaned in an order that prevents soot being carried onto finished surfaces. Quality is checked with a UV lamp and a cloth test.
Smoke odour is removed by ozone treatment with our own generator — in cycles, with ventilation in between and a measurement before handover. If the odour returns, we repeat the treatment at no extra charge.
Dry before wet
Chemical soot sponges and HEPA vacuuming before a single drop of water — otherwise soot is pressed into the surface.
Quality control
UV lamp and cloth test at the end of every room — the smoke film must be removed, not covered up.
Ozone with a guarantee
Cycles with a measurement before handover. If the smoke odour remains, we repeat it free of charge.
What we clean after a fire
- Walls and ceilings — including surfaces that will be repainted: soot bleeds through fresh paint as yellow stains, and paint will not bond to sooty plaster. Cleaning before repainting is not optional — it is a requirement.
- Floors — machine cleaning with fine-particle vacuuming and a wet process suited to the flooring type.
- Windows and doors, both sides — glass, frames, seals, sills, door frames and fittings.
- Furniture and kitchens — outside and inside; mattresses and upholstery with HEPA vacuuming, disinfection and odour treatment.
- Textiles with pick-up — bedding and clothes washed via our partner laundry and returned, charged by weight with no mark-up.
And honestly, what cleaning cannot fix: heat damage (discolouration, deformation) cannot be cleaned away, and we do not do building work or painting — we prepare the surfaces for them. Whatever will be replaced during renovation we do not clean and do not charge. We coordinate with your renovation contractors, floor by floor, in the right order. Removal of destroyed items can be arranged as part of our junk removal service.

Common questions about fire damage cleaning
Does insurance cover cleaning after a fire?
In most cases yes — under the fire insurance of the home or building. The process: you report the claim, the loss adjuster inspects and writes a damage report, and we prepare an itemised quote with line items numbered exactly as in the report. After the work we issue an invoice with the same items and your claim number. This is the procedure we have used for claim files of Slovenian insurance companies.
How quickly can you start?
The site visit is free and we arrange it as soon as possible. Work usually starts within 5 working days of written confirmation or the insurer's approval of the estimate. Cleaning itself typically takes 2–3 working days, plus a day or two for ozone treatment — during which the rooms must not be used.
Smoke has stained rooms the adjuster did not record. What now?
Very common — smoke spreads through a building like through a chimney, staircases and hallways carry soot far from the fire itself. Important: the insurer must be informed of additional damage before it is repaired, otherwise those costs are not reimbursed. We list such areas separately in the quote and advise you to request a supplementary adjuster's inspection before work begins.
Do you also remove the smoke odour?
Yes. We treat the rooms with ozone using our own generator — in cycles, with ventilation in between and a measurement before handover. If the odour returns after the treatment, we repeat it at no extra charge. Mattresses, upholstery and textiles are treated separately.
The walls will be repainted anyway — do they really need cleaning?
Yes, and this is the most common surprise. Soot contains grease and resins that bleed through fresh paint as yellow stains, and paint simply will not bond to sooty plaster. Cleaning before repainting is required by every serious painter — and anticipated by every damage report.
What about destroyed items and equipment?
Anything that heat has destroyed beyond cleaning we do not clean and do not charge — we separate this clearly in the quote. Removal of destroyed items can be arranged as part of our junk removal service, with the same team and a single appointment.
